Roy Williams has an emerging reputation as a fine
Christian public speaker
and speaks not only about Christian issues, but
current affairs in general as well.
He is
non-denominational and charges no fee, and will speak anywhere in Sydney at
his own expense. Anywhere else in Australia can be by arrangement as to his
expenses.
Roy has spoken to audiences large and small at many venues including:
- Australian National Prayer Breakfast, Parliament House, Canberra,
November 2009
- Perth Writers Festival 2009
- Adelaide Writers Festival 2010
- Jewish Writers Festival, Sydney 2010
- Sir Thomas More Society
He has also appeared at numerous churches, schools, workplaces, public
libraries, book shops and book clubs, and is an an experienced media performer
as well, having been interviewed on radio
including:
- Sheridan Voysey (Hope 103.2 FM Sydney)
- John Cleary (ABC 702 Religion programme)
- Steve Austin (ABC 602 Brisbane)
- John Safran and Father Bob (ABC Triple M)
- Richard Quadrio (1170 2CH, Sunday Night Live)
Roy's public speaking skills were honed by twenty years of experience as a
litigation lawyer. He was a partner of the leading Australian law firm Allens
Arthur Robinson.
A key part of his job was to speak publicly - not only in court, but at numerous
seminars, mediations and conferences.
Roy is well able to respond to questioning, and even handle "hostile" audiences,
but he's also happy to address fellow believers, to help them strengthen their
faith.
Roy's approach is not to impose his own views on an audience and to brook no
arguments. Rather, he seeks to raise issues in an interesting way, and his
desire is to get people discussing, and thinking about, the crucial questions:
1) Is there a God?
2) If so, what does God expect of me?
Roy believes that when and if people start sincerely grappling with these
questions, the Holy Spirit will do the rest.
Over the last three years Roy has visited many congregations and other Christian
and non-Christian groups.
To name some of them (in Sydney unless otherwise stated):
- All Saints Anglican Church, Hunters Hill
